Spy Optic’s Paul Carpenter wins the third round of the Monster Canadian MX Nationals!

Monster/Cernic’s/Kawasaki’s Carpenter tops the premier MX1 class with a 3rd/1st two-moto finish; teammate Bob Kiniry comes in 4th
CARLSBAD, Calif.– Spy Optic’s Paul Carpenter (Monster Energy/Cernic’s Kawasaki) came up huge in the second MX1 class moto at Edmonton’s (Alberta) Castrol Raceway, winning that race and subsequently taking the overall premier class race win with a 3rd/1st two-moto finish on the day at round three of the 2009 Monster Energy CMRC Canadian MX Nationals.
Carpenter, who’s now podiumed in all three Canadian MX Nationals rounds, cut further in series point front runners’ Colton Facciotti and Dusty Klatt overall lead. “I'm so happy to get this win," said Carpenter of his first win in Canada since his ’07 MX1 championship. "The whole team has been working really hard and we thought the win would come sooner. Hopefully we can carry this momentum to the next rounds and close the point's gap.”
Running the Spy Optic Magnetos top ten finishes as well were Carpenter’s Monster Energy/Cernic’s/Kawasaki teammate Bob Kiniry (4th overall), along with the KTM-mounted Jeff Northrop (9th). And though Jack Carpenter (Monster/Cernic’s/Kawasaki) didn’t come up big in the points at Castrol, he is still in the top ten overall after two good showing at the opening Canadian MX National rounds.
This weekend the Spy Optic-running Monster Energy/Cernic’s/Kawasaki team will be in Morden, Manitoba, for the Shadow Valley Raceway MX National. For more information on the series link to its website at:
