DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing to Compete at Texas
HOUSTON – After a successful run during the AMA Supercross East Region rounds this year, Team DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing makes its return to the national outdoor tracks at Freestone Raceway this Saturday, June 6 for the third round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships, the Flagstar Bank National. Competing in the 250 Class, Teddy Parks continues flying the DNA Energy Drink colors this season and is joined by new teammate Taylor Painter.
Eighteen year-old Parks of Princeton, Texas was impressive during his rookie AMA Supercross season where he had four top 15 finishes in the 250cc Lites main events. He qualified for all eight evening programs. Parks’ best finish during his fist outdoor season last year was a 26th overall at Budds Creek. Painter, who is 22 and comes from Granbury, Texas, also qualified for all eight evening programs during the AMA Supercross East Region rounds. Both riders will compete on Suzuki RM-Z250 race bikes.
“My goal is to support riders who have potential and do not have the race weekend team infrastructure like we do with our transporter,” said team manager Tim Shea. “With the third round being in the home state, it was our goal all year to make this race. I really wanted to work with Teddy again as he was so impressive in Supercross and after looking for another rider, I came across Taylor. Our goal for Freestone is to get the riders into the afternoon program and do what we can to support them from there.”
Head to Freestone Raceway in Wortham, Texas this Saturday, June 6 to meet the Team DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing riders. Gates open at 9 a.m. For event information, visit www.allisports.com.
Shea added, “From what I've seen and heard, MX Sports Pro Racing has significantly elevated the series this year. As a long-time motocross racer and now team owner, I applaud them, AMA Pro Racing, Lucas Oil, and the Alliance of Action Sports for taking the steps to get the motocross nationals in front of millions more people around the world. We’re excited to be part of the show!”
