Division7/Star Racing/Yamaha Hangtown Report

Rancho Cordova, CA - Round two of the AMA MX National Series kept the wheels turning near Sacramento, Ca at Hangtown MX Park this past Saturday. Division 7/Star Racing/Yamaha showcasing Matt Lemoine #41, Broc Tickle #43, Darryn Durham #159, and Lucas Moraes #455, came in refreshed and ready to take on another grueling track. Timed qualifying went well for our riders, as Tickle clocked in at 5th fastest and Lemoine also set a strong lap time giving them both gate selections amongst the top contenders.

Moto one took off seeing Lemoine running 8th, Tickle 10th, and Durham 40th due to a crash. Towards the end of lap two Lemoine was having some troubles, and slipped back to 9th. However, Tickle continued with where he had left off in qualifying and moved to 7th. Still struggling a little, Lemoine fell back even farther to 14th as the race neared the midway mark. Up front, Tickle held his own in 6th at the halfway point, and had tracked down the fifth place competitor. Lemoine at this point turned things to a positive, and began to inch himself forward. Tickle tried desperately lap after lap to close in far enough to make the pass, but mistakes got in his way. The last few laps of the 30 min. +2 moto came, and Tickle found himself in a battle to make any attempt of increasing his standing. Smartly, Tickle settled with 6th showing great promise, Lemoine ventured back to 12th, and Durham was 27th after using the rest of the moto for experience.

Moto two came into existence, with Tickle in contention sitting 7th, Lemoine was in common territory, 9th, and Durham sat inside the top fifteen. Unfortunately, for Durham early in the lap one a big get off over an uphill jump would complete his day, luckily though no injuries were sustained. As the rest of this moto wore on, Tickle only would move in the rankings slightly, 6th, and Lemoine trailed in 11th.
