  • Deegan Podiums in First Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Round

LOS ANGELES, CA – Freestyle motocross superstar Brian Deegan, ran an incredible off road truck race this weekend, April 4th and 5th, at Stops 1 and 2 of the inaugural Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at the Primm Valley Motorsports Complex.

Running the Unlimited Lite Class and debuting as a Team Owner/Driver, in conjunction with Todd Cuffaro’s Cuffaro Motorsports, Deegan finished Round 1 on Saturday with a hard earned 4th.  Sunday’s round 2 brought about Deegan’s first podium, in just the second season of his professional off road truck racing career – a third place finish for the newly formed Rockstar/Metal Mulisha/Cuffaro Motorsports team.

With 18 trucks starting the Saturday main event, and despite an inversion of the first two starting rows, Deegan ran most of the race in the top 5, finishing an impressive 4th.

On Sunday, Deegan once again ran at the front of the pack battling back and forth between 2nd and 3rd ultimately taking the checkered flag in 3rd place bringing the newly formed Rockstar/Metal Mulisha/Cuffaro Motorsports team its first podium of 2009 off-road racing season.

Teammate and 2008 Pro-Lite Rookie of the Year Todd Cuffaro finished Round 1 in 5th and Round 2 - 6th.

In addition to exciting, non-stop truck, buggy and kart racing, the two-day event also featured between racing freestyle motocross jump demos by top competitors from the Metal Mulisha.

Post weekend racing Deegan had this to say, “I really need to give tremendous props to Cuffaro Motorsports – Todd really brought things together and our Crew Chief, George Lameda had the Rockstar/Metal Mulisha Ford dialed in perfectly!  The entire Cuffaro Motorsports crew got everything race ready and in a super short amount of time.”

With regard to the debut outing of the inaugural Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, Deegan went on to say, “Also, really need to give thanks to everyone at Lucas Oil for putting on a great weekend of truck racing – everyone involved – from the people in registration, to those coordinating
pit parking and actual racing, were great to deal with!”  “Bob Patison has put something together that has a real friendly, family-feel to it and I think this series will grow tremendously; I’m just glad to be part of it from the very beginning and I look forward to growing with the series.”
