Shock Doctor/KTM XC-2 Riders Top the Podium
Morgantown, NC – Shock Doctor/KTM Factory XC-2 Pro Lites riders Cory Buttrick and Kailub Russell finished 1st and 2nd at the third round of the GNCC Series.
This win marked Buttrick’s first win for the season while also marking the third podium finish for Russell, winner of the previous two rounds. Buttrick started within the top three while his teammate, Russell, had an unfortunate crash in the first turn which caused him to start from the back of the pack. Buttrick quickly moved into the lead while Russell was busy making his way into the top five. By the end of the third lap Buttrick still held the lead while Russell was sitting close by in 2nd. The two riders battled for the next two laps until Russell crashed once more. Buttrick went on to take his first win of the season while Russell recovered and finished 2nd overall.
In the XC-1 class team rider Nate Kanney started well in 3rd position. His teammate, Kurt Caselli, got pinched off in the start and was forced to start from dead last. By the second lap Caselli had made up a lot of time and moved into the top ten. At the end of the race, Kanney held on for 5th while Caselli had charged through the pack to finish right behind him in 6th.
