Suzuki City Daytona Recap

After missing the main in Indianapolis the weekend prior, Matt Goerke thrived in front of his home state fans, as the Lake Helen resident charged through the pack to finish sixth at the 2009 Daytona Supercross. It was Goerke’s best result of the 2009 season. His teammate, Steven Clarke, pulled the holeshot in the AMA Supercross Lites main event, but unfortunately several crashes relegated the youngster to a 16th on the rough and sandy circuit.

Matt Goerke:
“Yeah, it felt like I was riding well, finally! I wish I could’ve got a start up front, but it’s been the same thing all year; I’ve got to work on my starts. I have to figure out something, because if I get a start I definitely think I can run up there. Things are going really good with the team. We’ve been getting the bike better every week, so I’m really looking forward to this week in New Orleans.”

The next stop for the Suzuki City team is the New Orleans Supercross on March 14, 2009.
