  • Chad Reed Makes It Two in a Row

Carlsbad, CA – Chad Reed, the Reigning World / AMA Supercross Champion, celebrated his 2nd consecutive victory with a win Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Reed dominated the race after a bad start due to a first corner pile up he had to avoid.  Once around the pile of bikes, Reed had to battle from the back of the pack and captured the lead with only three laps remaining.  This is his third career Daytona Supercross win. Reed’s victory catapulted him to an 11 point lead over 2nd place in the race to the Championship with 224 points. Fellow Wasserman athlete, Davi Millsaps rounded out the podium finishing in 3rd place.

“This weekend was great, having two wins in a row. I worked my way up to my teammate and about midway through the race.  I just put my head down and tried to get it done. I didn’t feel like I was being as aggressive as I should to make passes quick. So I just tried to pay attention to the times and make up a few seconds per lap. I feel good about the title chase and I’ll take one point and I believe we got 11. It’s a long season and we have a lot of races to go. Two wins in a row is awesome but you have to take it one race at a time.  We’ll do our work this week and come out next week to hopefully get a win,” said the defending Champion.

The next race is this Saturday, March 14h, at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Race coverage will be televised on SPEED TV on March 15th at 6:00pm EST / 3:00pm PST.

Chad Reed would like to thank the following sponsors: Rockstar Makita Suzuki, Thor / Parts Unlimited, Alpinestars and Scott Goggles.
