DRD to Support Johnny Lewis
Daytona Beach, Fla. – Dubach Racing Development (DRD) will sponsor Johnny Lewis for the 2009 AMA Pro Flat Track Championship Singles races and regional events. After supporting his Supermoto program last year, the motocross-based company has stepped into flat track with Lewis for the first time in its history. His program will be known as Scott Powersports/DRD presented by AxiomTV.
Lewis will compete on a Scott Powersports Kawasaki KX450F in the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship starting this Wednesday night, March 4, for the opening round in Daytona. On the dyno, the DRD Titanium exhaust system mated to Lewis’ bike had a significant five horsepower gain.

In 2008, DRD came on board to sponsor Lewis for the XTRM AMA Pro Supermoto Championship. Last spring, Lewis got Supercross winner and 10-time Vet World Motocross Champion Doug Dubach on a Supermoto race bike for the very first time. Featured in SuperMoto Racer Magazine’s summer 2008 issue,the bike was actually Dubach’s own personal Yamaha YZ450F outfitted with Lewis’ Supermoto wheels, suspension, and other goodies. And of course it had a DRD Titanium exhaust. After his laps, Dubach stepped away from the bike with a big smile on his face. Maybe this season, Doug will take a lap on a dirt oval with Lewis’ specialized 450cc motocross-based flat tracker.
“Doug and DRD joined my program last year and provided more support than I could have dreamed,” said Lewis. “Besides high-performing exhausts, they stepped up to support my participation in the Navy Moto X World Championships by loaning me Doug’s personal Yamaha YZ450F. I value the quality and performance of their exhaust systems and the personalized attention to sponsored riders, so I worked with them to come up with a deal for this year. I am so happy they are on board again and hope to show flat trackers and fans how DRD can take me to ‘The Next Step!’”
Lewis will compete at the opening round of the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship on Wednesday, March 4 for the Daytona Short Track at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida.
