Marc de Reuver Wins in Hawkstone Park
Marc De Reuver won the Hawkstone Park International race for the second year in succession last Sunday. The Dutch rider rode flawlessly to win the first race, and with third position in race 2 he did enough to secure overall victory.
After his good result in Valence, De Reuver was keen to repeat the performance at Hawkstone Park. He used his good knowledge of the track to optimal effect and set the fastest time during his qualifying session. He used his good gate choice to optimal effect, and started the race in second position. At mid-race distance he applied pressure on the leader and in lap 10 he took over the lead. From there he rode to a comfortable 12 second victory.
In the second race, De Reuver started in third position on his Martin Honda, and quickly realized that by maintaining this position, the overall victory on the day would be his. He set all systems on safe, and rode comfortably to another race podium finish and overall victory.
De Reuver will now travel to his team's home base in Italy, and next weekend he will participate in the third round of the Italian Championships at Ponte A Egola.
