Spinechillers Racing Takes 1st in Tulsa
For the first time ever, Arenacross visited the BOK Center in Tulsa Oklahoma. Race fans were treated to some fast paced racing action along with the non-stop action of the Feld Entertainment crew.
Looking to build on the momentum gained at the previous round, Team Spinechillers Racing was looking forward to getting back up front and gaining valuable championship points.
With Lites East points leader Willy Browning remaining sidelined from a altercation with a foot peg in a previous round, Nathan Skaggs and Zach Ames had to represent for the team in the Arenacross class.
Team Manager Dallas Avery commented; “Williams Motor Werx has been doing a great job at getting the guys off the gate and out in front of the pack”. “That’s where we need to be at the start to keep the team on the box each weekend”.
This week’s on-line poll on Arenacross.com had 38% of the audience picking Nathan [Skaggs] to win the Tulsa round. All of his fans and family were on line cheering the Chillicothe, Ohio resident on for the night.
Off the gate, Nathan was in third going into the tight first corner. According to Nathan, “ A couple of guys went down in front of me, but I was able to get around them and get out front”. “I really liked the dirt in Tulsa, and felt great all night”.
Nathan remained up front all the way to the checkered flag for his third win of the season. Zach Ames continues to move towards the front finishing in 6’th position in Tulsa and moving into 11’th overall in points. Zach [Ames] commented, “My shoulder is getting back to full strength were I feel like I can push myself again”. “I’ve been riding conservatively to gain as many points as I could while giving my shoulder a chance to heal, but I feel that I’m almost back to 100% and am looking to get up to a podium spot.”
