The usual suspects are up front, and Jason Lawrence is out, at San Francisco.
James Stewart threw down the fastest laptime of the day in practice at AT&T Park with a 49.477-second lap. Steve Cox Chad Reed was second fastest with a 50.145. Steve Cox Ryan Villopoto was third with a 50.626. Steve Cox Kevin Windham was just behind Villopoto with a 50.678. Steve Cox Fifth-fastest was Davi Millsaps with a 50.719. Steve Cox Josh Hill was sixth-fastest with a 50.938. Steve Cox Josh Grant was seventh-fastest with a 50.997. Steve Cox Mike Alessi was eight-fastest with a 51.007. Steve Cox In the Lites class, Ryan Dungey was the only other rider besides Stewart to dip into the 49s. He put down a 49.819. His rival Jason Lawrence missed the race with reported food poisoning that he recieved an IV for (which is against the AMA rules), although the AMA refused to confirm or deny it.
