  • News from Foremost Insurance Jim Neese Racing
Greensboro, North Carolina - The Foremost Insurance Jim Neese Racing Team raced in Louisville, Kentucky at the Broadbent Arena this past weekend and it was Josh Thomas from Greensboro, North Carolina who kept the team on the podium. Thomas rode an impressive race to finish second overall on Saturday night. He actually benefitted from his team mate's misfortune. Jim Neese had been leading the race when he got tangled up with another rider and went down, Neese finished the race in 15th place. On Friday night Thomas finished in 9th place in the Lites race.

In Friday night's Arenacross main event, what started out as a great race for Mike McDade turned ugly when another rider cleaned him out of third place. McDade had been riding strong in third place. At times it even looked liked the riders in front of him were holding him back. After Broc Sellards took him out, McDade remounted his bike slightly injured, he rode as best he could but another mishap further aggravated an old injury and he had to pull off the track. McDade opted to skip Saturday's races and heal up for the Greensboro round.

Point Standings after the Louisville Round:

Mike McDade   Jim Neese         Josh Thomas
AX points               15th           12th                  28th
Lites points         7th (east)   14th (Midwest)   9th (east)

"I am happy see Josh get his first podium this season. He has been steadily improving in his first Arenacross season. He has also shown that he has the speed to win in both classes and that he will be formidable competitor in Arenacross. The competition this year is the deepest I have ever seen it, so anyone getting on the podium in either class is fast," noted Neese.

"It was too bad that Mike's race was cut short the way it was, I think we would have had a few more podiums this weekend had he not been taken out. The competition is tough this year and we will all just have to fight that much harder from now on. The next race is in front of our home crowd in Greensboro and we are looking forward to that," added Neese.

"I am really excited to have finished on the podium this weekend. It seemed like every weekend I was getting closer to getting on the podium as my confidence grew. This is all new to me having never seriously raced in Arenacross for a professional team. I really appreciate that Jim gave me the opportunity and that we have such great sponsors like Foremost Insurance and Kenda Tires who make it possible for us to race in the series, commented Josh Thomas.

The next race for the team is January 31, 2009 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. The team will be racing Saturday night only.
