Division7/Star Racing/Yamaha - Anaheim II
Anaheim, CA - The AMA Supercross series migrated back into the hot bed of racing this past Saturday, where Angel stadium hosted round three with a more than challenging track. Division 7/Star Racing/Yamaha’s #164 Michael Hall, and #207 Sean Collier are progressing each week considerably and the entire sport is really taking notice to our ever-evolving program.
Heat #1 had Collier, getting out of the gate in good fashion and in the early laps he made some smart moves to insure the netting of a transfer position. The consistent, steady riding of Collier saw him take his Yamaha to a solid 4th place finish at the end of six laps.
The night started positively for Hall who lined up in Heat #2, once again grabbing the holeshot he proceeded on with the lead for a full lap and a half. Holding down the 5th spot for the majority of the race, Hall kept his cool and pushed the limits against the veterans. In doing so, the rookie shook his run of hard luck and secured himself in his first ever main event.
Main Event time was exciting right away; Hall put together a good start and smart first lap in 9th, remaining there for the following three laps. At halfway he found his way to 8th, setting some of his best lap times and continued with a calculated performance. On lap ten, Hall had one slight bobble when he cased a rhythm section taking some wind out of his sails. Slipping back into 9th, Hall regained his form and went on to finish out just inside the top ten in only his third Supercross race. On the other end of the spectrum, Collier was slow out of the gate but knifed his way in behind his teammate early into lap one. However, on the very next lap a run in with a tough block put him in the dirt. Able to remount, Collier would soldier on but only muster up a finish of 20th.
Be sure to keep an eye on our East coast contingents in Houston this weekend, #41 Matt Lemoine looks promising and our other rookie #159 Darryn Durham has been really strong in pre season testing.
Star Racing thanks all these key backers for their quality service.
