Fun Center Suzuki Blazes into Phoenix
The Phoenix weather was a welcomed change with blue sky’s and 70°’s for the 45,000+ fans which attended. After a rough start to the season Fun Center Suzuki’s Michal Lapaglia, Cole Seely and Brady Sheren had a hard week of work leading up to this event. Unfortunately for Lapaglia his tough luck would continue. In the first practice session Lapaglia was going through a whoop section next to another rider and the rider ended up going down right into him sending them both to the ground. After a trip to the Asterisk Mobile Medical Center it was determined Lapaglia suffered a grade 2 concession ending his weekend. In the remainder of the timed practice Seely ended up 21st and Sheren 35th.
Sheren in heat one got a late jump off the gate and rode to 15th and a trip to the LCQ. Seely got a great start on his RMZ 250 in heat two and came around the first turn in sixth. By the end of lap two he had worked his way up to fourth where he finished.
In the LCQ Sheren again struggled with timing the gate and ended up finishing 16th. “I had a really hard time getting off the gate tonight,” said Sheren. “I know what I need to work on this week and I will put my Fun Center Suzuki in the Main next weekend.”
In his first Main Event as a pro, Seely came around the first turn in around 17th. He did not waste any time and quickly made some great passes and into 12th by the end of lap two. On lap twelve Seely had worked his way up to 10th only to be passed by Reardon
on the last lap placing him 11th. “For my first Main Event I felt really good out there,” said Seely. “I am already looking forward to next weekend and bettering my results.” Seely’s finish moved him into 17th in the standings and only six points out of tenth.
The team would like to thank Corbin Bleu for coming out to support the team and promote his new movie Free Style. You can catch up with the Fun Center Suzuki team and a preview of Corbin’s new movie at the next event this weekend in Anaheim, CA at Angles stadium.
