Sel Narayana Receives Mickey Thompson Award of Excellence

Anaheim, CA – Selvaraj Narayana, Director of Logistics and Operations for KTM India, was presented the Mickey Thompson Award of Excellence at the opening round of the 2009 AMA Supercross Series at Angel Stadium.

The Mickey Thompson Award of Excellence is presented annually at the first round of the Supercross Series to an individual that has contributed much of his life and career to developing and improving the motorcycle industry. Narayana, who has been working in the motorcycle industry for the past 40 years, with the majority of his career at KTM, is more than deserving of such a prestigious award.

Narayana was completely caught off guard and was not expecting to receive this award until minutes before the award presentation. “I came just to watch Supercross and was told that I needed to report to the podium, never did I image it was for such an honor as this,” commented Narayana.

During the acceptance speech, Narayana thanked the Thompson family as well as the entire industry, commenting after “It has been a very memorable forty years and I feel blessed to have worked with the numerous individuals within the industry that have become a family to me.”

In addition to the Mickey Thompson award, Narayana also received the AMA Lifetime Achievement award at the 2008 Supercross Banquet.
