Phoenix AMA Supercross Class Stats

  • The first race held in Phoenix was on March 16, 1991, Jean-Michael Bayle won this race on a Honda.
  • No other races were held in Phoenix until 1999.
  • This will be the 12th time the gate will drop for a Monster Energy® Supercross class race.
  • Ezra Lusk won his last AMA Supercross class race in Phoenix on a Kawasaki in 2003.
  • James Stewart is the only rider to win Phoenix in both the AMA Supercross and AMA Lites classes.

  • Josh Grant won the first AMA Supercross class race of his career.
  • Grant became the 51st different rider to win an AMA Supercross class race.
  • Grant became the 18th different rider to earn his first AMA Supercross class win while riding a Yamaha.
  • Chad Reed made his 102nd AMA Supercross class career start
  • Reed now has 87 AMA Supercross class podiums and is now tied with Ricky Carmichael for 2nd on the all-time AMA Supercross class podium list.
  • Reed made his 7th consecutive 1st round start in Anaheim. He now has 6 podiums, 3 wins.
  • James Stewart finished 19th.
  • In 2002, Ricky Carmichael finished 20th in the first round and ended up winning the title that year. Can James Stewart do the same?
  • Andrew Short finished 2nd, which is his best ever Supercross finish.

  • The first AMA Supercross Lites race in Phoenix was March 16 1991 and Jeff Emig won on a Yamaha.
  • This will be the 12th time the gate will drop for a Monster Energy® Supercross Lites race in Phoenix.
  • James Stewart is the only rider to win Phoenix back to back. He accomplished this in 2002 and 2003.
  • Jake Weimer won Phoenix in ‘08, can he join James in winning back to back AMA Supercross Lites in Phoenix.
  • Not since 2004 when Ivan Tedesco started the season with 5 consecutive wins has a rider won rounds 1 and 2 in the AMA Supercross Lites class. Can Jake Weimer become the first since Tedesco?

  • Jake Weimer won the opening race of the Western Regional AMA Supercross championship on a Pro Circuit Kawasaki.
  • Pro Circuit has had a team for 19 seasons. With the win in Anaheim, Pro Circuit has won at least 1 race in 18 seasons.
  • 2001 was the only year Pro Circuit did not win an AMA Supercross Lites class main event.
  • The win marked Pro Circuit’s 91st in the AMA Supercross Lites class
  • Defending Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites champion Jason Lawrence finished 4th and Ryan Dungey finished 3rd. Jake Weimer’s teammate Ryan Morais finished second.
