  • Johnny Lewis to Race The ICE Racing Series Round in New York

Glens Falls, N.Y. – AxiomTV-supported Johnny Lewis will compete in round two of the World Championship ICE Racing Series in the Manufacturers World Cup class. This will be his first-ever ice race. Lewis will make the trek from Coatesville, Penn to the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, New York on Friday, January 9.

The 33rd Annual World ICE Racing Championship takes modern state-of-the-art racing motorcycles to the ice in the confines of arenas. The seven round series hits four states and Ontario, Canada. The Manufacturers World Cup class is for 450cc motocross bikes with studded tires. Visit www.icespeedway.com to learn more about the series and for tickets.

“I am very excited to race this Friday at the World Championship ICE Racing series,” said Lewis who will run number two in the series. “This series opens a great opportunity on the East coast and Midwest during the winter months to race. With changing my entire program this year back to dirt track, it will be a benefit to get some oval racing in before the AMA series starts.”

During the holiday season, Lewis has been getting his new 2009 Kawasaki KX450F ready for ice competition. In 2008, he competed on a Kawasaki at four dirt track events where his best finish was seventh place at the Dairyland Classic Flat Track in Plymouth, Wis. Lewis plans to compete in other select rounds of the World Championship ICE Racing Series, along with the AMA Ice Racing Grand Championships in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. on February 14-15. His first AMA Flat Track Championship race for 2009 will be the Daytona Short Track on March 4-5 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
