Tuf Honda Looks for AMA Arenacross Three-Peat
AURORA, Ill. – With back-to-back AMA Arenacross Series championships in tow, Tuf Honda returns in 2009 as one of the favorites to walk away with the series title.
The leading Honda team in the AMA Arenacross Series, Tuf has proven their bikes are some of the best on the track and expectations run high for the team. Fortunate to have employed some of the most talented and experienced riders en route to their championships with Danny Smith (2007) and Chad Johnson (2008), Tuf brings an equally impressive tandem in 2009.
Leading the way for Team Manager Dave Antolak’s stable is arenacross legend Josh Demuth. After a short hiatus, Demuth returns to the series full time in 2009. Despite running just a handful of events last season, the two-time champion still grabbed three victories. He made his debut for Tuf Honda in November at the prequel race from Des Moines, Iowa where he took the win on night one and served notice to his competitors that he will be a force this season.
Joining Demuth at Tuf Honda is veteran Jeff Gibson. While it has been several years since Gibson was a full-time AMA Arenacross Series competitor, he has honed his skills on technical tracks as an experienced supercross rider. The 2009 season presents a great opportunity for Gibson to be part of such a celebrated team. He showcased his enthusiasm and ability in November, earning the acclaimed “King of Stuttgart” title at the Stuttgart Supercross in Germany.
