FMF MX Winter Series Goes Inside
Blountville, TN – This weekend’s (Dec. 12-13) upcoming rounds of the FMF INDOOR MX WINTER Series at the SMOKY MOUNTAIN EXPO ARENA will have INDOOR PITS. This fall’s temperatures are running 15 to 20 degrees colder than normal and it is less than comfortable outside at night. Arena manager John Baldy is going to open a building adjacent to staging for indoor pit area. This is being offered to the Victory Sports racers on a trial basis. The building is new but isn’t heated. It will shelter the riders and their equipment out of the wind and cold.
The series opened two weeks ago with a record crowd at the WNC Ag Center in Asheville, NC. Zach Osborne overcame the odds taking all four pro main wins over the 38 other pro riders Friday and Saturday nights. The field of talent was deep, but Osborne showed that he could easily win with the holeshot or coming through the pack to claim the lead with only two laps to go. The weekend was his as he walked out the door with $2,000.00 in his pocket.
Friday signup starts at 11:30am, practice at 1:30pm, qualifiers at 2:45, and main events at 7:00. Saturday everything starts earlier with signup at 10:00am and practice at 12:00 noon. The arena is located at exit #8 off of I-81 which is about 30 miles east of Knoxville, Tennessee.
