Brayton Earns 5th Overall at US Open
October 13, 2008, 10:40am
Las Vegas, NV – MDK/KTM Factory rider Justin Brayton earned 5th overall at the conclusion of the two-day US Open at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Brayton, who earned a 4th overall on Friday, carried his luck with him to Saturday’s event, turning fast lap times throughout the practice sessions. Brayton went on to qualify to the main event after earning 3rd place in Heat #3 behind James Stewart and Ivan Tedesco.
In the main event, Brayton lined up directly in the middle of the gate which didn’t help him much on the start. He came around the first lap in 10th and started to charge forward. Unfortunately, on the second lap he came together with Josh Hill and crashed in the outdoor section. He remounted in 13th position. He eventually made up some of his lost time and caught back up to 9th place by the end of the race. His 4-9 positions earned him 5th overall.
