  • Doug Henry Dunlop Yamaha FZ1 Auction a Huge Success
Buffalo, NY - Dunlop Motorcycle Tires is proud to announce the successful sale of the Doug Henry Yamaha FZ1 custom-built benefit bike at auction for $19,550. The exhilarating online auction raised the combined total of monies generated for the Doug Henry Benefit via poster sales and the auction to more than $22,000 a huge success for a most worthwhile cause.

Well-known racing entity Graves Motorsports created the extensively customized Yamaha FZ1, which was claimed during an eBay auction for $19,550 by Bob Briggs of Alto Loma, California. Briggs, an avid motorcyclist, was thrilled to win the final bid.

The one-off custom-built bike, fitted with Dunlop's new Roadsmart sport-touring tires, was built by Graves Motorsports to help raise funds for the multi-time national motocross champion, who was injured during a Supermoto race in 2007. "We were happy to build this bike to assist Doug," said Graves. "It's a great bike for a great cause."

"I checked in and followed the auction since it started on eBay and I can't believe how well it has gone," said Henry. "The support I have received since the injury has been unbelievable. My sponsors, Dunlop Tires, Yamaha and Graves Motorsports have really stuck by me through this difficult time and Road 2 Recovery have been amazing, which I am very thankful for."

Henry is now making headway in his fight to overcome partial paralysis from the waist down. The Road 2 Recovery Foundation has been instrumental in co-coordinating the online auction and sale of Doug Henry Legends posters with all proceeds raised being donated to Henry to assist his ongoing rehabilitation efforts. Bob Moore, Chairman and Co-founder of the non-profit organization dedicated to helping injured professional motocross athletes, is honored to help support Doug's recovery.

"All of us who watched Doug throughout his career were amazed by what he was able to overcome in order to be the great person and champion that he is today," said Moore. "We were honored to help out with the bike auction. In fact this is exactly why the Foundation was established; to help riders just like Doug. On behalf of everyone at the Road 2 Recovery we wish Doug and his family all the best with his continued recovery."
