Racer X has heard from two different sources close to the team that Rockstar/Makita Suzuki rider Mike Alessi crashed at the Suzuki test track today while riding with other team members and apparently suffered a broken leg. That's all the news we have for now, but we will keep an eye out to confirm (or hopefully deny) this report.
Of course Alessi had been on the sidelines since his second moto crash off the start at RedBud where he suffered back, shoulder and head injuries that saw him sit out the remainder of the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Championships. After asking his team manager Roger DeCoster to ride the last few races without success, Alessi was hard at work on his preperation for the U.S. Open of Supercross and the 2009 season.
