Canyon Lake, Calif. (July 2, 2008) Monster Energy Team Green Kawasaki rider Sara Price kept her season winning streak alive at the Mammoth Motocross held Friday, June 27th in Mammoth, California by going 2-1 in the talent-stacked Women¹s Open class.
Sara, who is having a remarkable year, headed to the Mammoth Motocross - the longest continuously running Motocross in the USA - hoping to capture another championship title.
In moto one it looked like her hopes could be dashed with some minor bike issues. Sara was able to battle with Vicki Golden, of El Cajun, Ca. The two young racers pushed each other and ended up pulling away from the rest of the pack. Price ended up finishing second to Golden. After a few part replacements and mechanical adjustments, moto two saw Sara and Vicki battling again but this time Price won the moto and took the overall on her KX250F.
³It was a really good race with all the women at Mammoth² said Sara, ³There will be a really good Pro class of women coming into the WMA Championship in the next couple years, and I am excited about it."
Price will now turn her focus to NMA Ponca City Grand National the week of July 21st and the Loretta Lynn¹s AMA Amateur National Championship the week of July 28th in Hurricane Mills, TN.
Sara is sponsored by Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green, Thor MX, Pro Circuit, Factory Backing, Pro Taper, Scott USA, Dunlop, Maxima, QTM, Ready Filters, AC Racing, Auto Styles Body and Paint, Panic Rev Ministries, and Brett Downey Safety Foundation.
