Actor Tom Arnold to Attend MotoStars Exhibit
Actor Tom Arnold will join fellow riding enthusiasts at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, Ohio, on June 27 and 28 to celebrate the grand opening of the Museum’s latest exhibit, “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles.” “MotoStars” spotlights over 100 of the country’s most passionate celebrity moto enthusiasts, their motorcycles and personal memorabilia. A lifelong motorcyclist, Arnold has written, produced or starred in over 150 movies and television shows. His recent projects include the films “Pride” and the upcoming “Gardens of the Night.”
A 2008 Victory Vision Street motorcycle commissioned by Arnold for a charity auction is on display in the “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles” exhibit. The bike was designed by Arnold’s longtime riding buddy and legendary special effects wizard, Stan Winston, with colors inspired by the recent blockbuster “Iron Man,” which featured special effects by the Stan Winston Studios. After an illustrious career that spanned four decades and featured the creation of iconic visual effects, including the dinosaurs of “Jurassic Park,” the extraterrestrials from “Aliens,” and the robots from “Terminator,” Winston passed away on June 15, 2008. The Victory Vision Street he designed continues to carry forward his legacy and will be auctioned off on eBay in July. Proceeds will benefit two of the charities Arnold frequently works with, the Camp del Carazon www.campdelcorazon.org and Operation Homefront www.operationhomefront.net. The motorcycle will remain on display in “MotoStars” until the winning bidder takes it home in August.
Arnold is one of many prominent personalities contributing motorcycles and memorabilia to the “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles” exhibit. Actors, artists, athletes, musicians, bike builders and industry leaders have all provided priceless machines and exclusive ephemera for the milestone exhibit.
The grand opening celebration for “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles” begins with a VIP gala and charity auction on Friday, June 27, at 7PM. The celebration continues on Saturday, June 28, with the official ribbon-cutting, a “MotoStars” panel discussion and an autograph session. In addition to Arnold, these events will be attend by Gary Davis, motorcycle stunt director and coordinator for movies such as “Terminator 2” and “Independence Day”; Debbie Evans, stunt rider in over 200 movies, including “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and “Spider Man 2”; Dan Haggerty, actor best-known for his role as Grizzly Adams in "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams"; Perry King, actor whose starring roles include the television series “Riptide” and movie “The Lords of Flatbush”; and Austin Weiss, builder for musician Lil’ John, comic Carolos Mencia and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.
