  • 2008 Montreal Supercross

Montreal, June 17, 2008 - Montreal's Olympic Stadium will again reverberate to the unmistakable noise and excitement of elite supercross action as it was announced today that one of Quebec's major summer sporting events, the Montreal Supercross Presented by Coors Light and Parts Canada, will play out at the landmark building on Saturday 20th September 2008.  The event, already in its third decade of competition, will showcase the best motocross, ATV and autocross dirt track races in Quebec with organizers once again ensuring that the 'Stadium offers supercross fans unrivalled value for money and a host of on-track action.

"There are two things that will never change: the value pricing of the tickets and the compact three-hour format for the on-track action," said Pierre Corbeil - Executive Producer of the event. "We continually strive to improve absolutely everything else to increase the enjoyment of the evening for our participants and spectators.  This year in particular we have all kinds of surprises in store.  We're going to make some additional announcements in the coming weeks which I'm confident will please all concerned."

The Montreal Supercross, set to be the best yet, has the support of two premier partners in 2008 in the form of Coors Light and Parts Canada. "Our partnership with this event helps us reach a customer-base with whom we have built a strong relationship over the years," commented Denis Ferlatte - Director of the Coors Light brand name.  "Our brand is proud to have been associated with freestylers and extreme sports riders for several years now.  Put simply it was a natural fit for us to be part of the Montréal Supercross and indeed it is a major event on our popular Coors Light Trauma Series schedule."

Parts Canada returns as a partner to the event for a second season.  "Our first experience with last year's Montréal Supercross was extremely satisfying," said Ms Shauna Szewczuk - Parts Canada Marking Coordinator.  "We were particularly impressed by the professionalism of the promoters and their desire to make each event more spectacular than the previous one.  We are extremely excited to return in 2008 and look forward to September's date with great anticipation!."

Over 50,000 fans flock to the Big O each year for the Montreal Supercross making it one of the most popular events held at the Stadium.  In addition to the fans making it a favorite destination, more than 150 riders from Canada, the USA and Europe are invited each year by the organizers to showcase their riding skills and ambitions.  Thrilling an audience of young and old, families and friends, it doesn't matter if you're a die-hard motocross fan or a first-time attendee, the Montreal Supercross never fails to impress on what is undoubtedly a spectacular evening's entertainment.

"With what we have in mind for this year, the 2008 Montreal Supercross will be an event to remember.  Put Saturday 20th September in your diaries and we look forward to hosting you at the Olympic Stadium," concluded Pierre Corbeil.

Tickets are already on sale and can be ordered online at www.admission.com, or by telephone by calling 514 790-1245 or 1 800 361-4597.  Alternatively tickets can be purchased directly at the Olympic Stadium ticket office and at participating motorcycle dealers.  Prices: $12.50, $18.50, $26.50, $36.50.  For group purchases contact 514 252-4141, Extension 5411.
