Canyon Lake, Calif. (June 13, 2008) Monster Energy Team Green Kawasaki rider Sara Price picked up two more amateur women race wins at Round One and Two of the AMA/WMA Amateur Motocross Championship Presented by Kawasaki.
Price came directly off a win at the Loretta Lynn's Northwest Regional Qualifier at Honey Lake Motocross Park, Milford, California. In a field of 23 racers in the Women¹s 99cc and up class, Sara went 1-3-2 for the overall.
From Honey Lake, Price went to Hangtown to contend the opening round of the WMA Championship by racing the WMA supported Women's Intermediate class on Friday, May 30th. She topped the roster of 26 racers going 1 -1 after a good battle with her Thor teammate Alexah Pearson in the first moto.
Next stop was Freestone County Raceway, in Wortham, TX for Round 2 of the WMA Championship. Sara raced the WMA supported Women's Intermediate class on Thursday, June 6th in the near 100-degree temperatures and happily got another 1-1 win.
"It was an amazing experience up to pull up to gate full of women on a National track and then to take the checkers," said Price "It is so good to see all the amateur, novice, and mini racers in the WMA and then to stay and watch the WMA Pros race on Sunday was really cool."
Price is hoping to get valuable experience racing the National tracks and come into the WMA Pro class in 2009 very prepared. She is currently leading the WMA Amateur Championship with 100 points, followed by Jackie Ives, 80 point, and Brooke Hodges 72 points.
