Paul Carpenter Out For Hangtown
Atomic Racing, Fox backed Paul Carpenter, who just came off his most successful Supercross season ever with a 10th Overall finish and Top Privateer Award, will have to miss the second-round of the AMA National Motocross Championships this weekend at Hangtown.
Paul had a tough first-round at Glen Helen where he was slammed into by another rider on the first lap and DNF’d the 2nd moto. Carpenter was in obvious pain holding his right knee as he left the track on the Asterisk's medical mule. After a complete evaluation by his own physician, the injuries sustained were a severe hematoma on his right calf and a deep bone contusion to the right knee. Doctors have indicated that he can return to action as soon as the leg can bare weight and he can tolerate the pain.
“I’m disappointed to miss this round of the Nationals. I’m really looking forward to returning to the east coast rounds and putting in some solid rides for my team, the sponsors and my fans” said Carpenter from his home in New York.
