Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders just can't lose!

Austin Stroupe extended Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s AMA Toyota MX Lites winning streak to 11 in a row with his win this past weekend at Glen Helen. It’s now been a full calendar year since the team lost, and that was last year at High Point when GEICO Powersports Honda’s Josh Grant took the win.

Stroupe joins a long list of talent who won their first AMA Toyota MX National at Glen Helen: Kevin Windham (‘96), Mickael Pichon (‘98), Sebastien Tortelli (‘99), Stephane Roncada (‘00), Grant Langston (‘01), James Stewart (‘02).

Has anyone ever gone 3-4 for fifth overall? That was Brett Metcalfe’s disappointing (and deceiving) final result at GH, where the winner Stroupe went 2-3, then there was a tie for second between Villopoto (5-1) and Lawrence (1-5), then came Ryan Dungey’s 4-2, and finally Metcalfe.

3-4 for fifth overall! That hurts!

The competitiveness here contrasts sharply with the 450 class, where we saw 1-1 (Stewart), 2-2 (Alessi), 3-3 (Millsaps) and 4-4 (Ferry).
