L&M Racing and Reed Part Ways
Murietta, CA - May 23, 2008 - Southern California's L&M Racing wishes to thank Team riders Chad Reed and Nathan Ramsey for an incredible 2008 race season. Reed for taking the 2008 AMA Monster Energy Supercross Championship Title and Ramsey for consistently placing in the Top 10 and finishing 7th overall in the Championship race.
It is with great regret however, that L&M Racing officially announces today that Chad Reed will not race as part of the L&M Race Program in 2009. While an offer was originally made to Reed to re-sign with L&M Racing, the terms of the Rider and that of the Team simply could not be reached. Team San Manuel looks forward to working with Reed through the remainder of his current contract period.
L&M Racing and the team's title team sponsor, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, have enjoyed the opportunity to work with such a strong and determined champion during the past two years and are thankful to Reed for all he has done to contribute to the success of the Team.
L&M Racing was formed in 2006 by Owner/Team Manager Larry Brooks and partner Mike Kranyak. In its second year of operation, L&M Racing's 2008 team, Team San Manuel Yamaha, consists of 2004 and 2008 Supercross Champion Chad Reed and former West Coast Lites Champion Nathan Ramsey. Led by Brooks, a key component in the Jeremy McGrath / Chaparral Racing team's three-year championship reign in Supercross; the first and only independent team to ever win the AMA Supercross Series Championship. L&M is one of the most successful independently- owned and operated teams in professional Supercross racing today.
