  • JGRMX Partners with SPIKE Hardcore Energy

The hardcore-energy drink will power the Joe Gibbs Racing Motocross team at the Toyota AMA National Championship season opener

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (May 23, 2008) – The Joe Gibbs Racing professional motocross team (JGRMX) is proud to announce that SPIKE Hardcore Energy will become the primary sponsor to the newly formed team. The team will be officially titled the SPIKE Hardcore Energy Yamaha Team Presented by Toyota, and will debut at the first round of the Toyota AMA National Championship series on May 25 in San Bernardino, California.

Designed for people who want a hardcore-energy experience, the SPIKE® brand is one of the nation's best selling and fastest growing lines of premium energy drinks. SPIKE® Shotgun, SPIKE® Shooter, and SPIKE® Double Shot can be found in major convenience store chains and select retail locations throughout the United States.

"Energy drinks are very popular with our audience," said Coy Gibbs, JGRMX team owner. "The SPIKE® brand is unique because it's backed by a company offering a full line of high-end designer nutritional supplements. They understand athletes and we are excited to be working with them."

SPIKE owner Tim Patterson said, "We've helped many top-level athletes, from the most-brutal sports around the world, maximize performance and blow away the competition, but we've never worked in motocross. And since motocross racing is as hardcore as it gets, it's a perfect fit for us. We're especially excited about partnering with the JGRMX team. Coy Gibbs and his crew are incredible – I'm confident this organization will one day dominate the sport. Together, we plan to bring real innovation to motocross. Just wait and see . . ."

The full roster of official team sponsors is SPIKE Hardcore Energy, Toyota, Yamaha, Yamalube, Renthal, N-Style, Oakley, Troy Lee Designs, Bridgestone, Etnies, Filtron Racing Oil and Air Filter Elements, Boost Mobile, Renton Coil Spring, Hinson Clutch Components, Pro Circuit, and Cycra. For more information, visit the team's official website, jgrmx.com.
