  • 9th Annual Monster Energy Charity Golf Classic Raises over $100G

Las Vegas (NEVADA) - The 9th Annual Monster Energy Golf Classic presented by Toyota Trucks at the Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas raised more than $110,000 to benefit the Road 2 Recovery Foundation, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that provides assistance to AMA licensed professional Motocross and Supercross riders who sustain career ending injuries. The event started at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, and included a lunch banquet, numerous raffles and on course events, a $10,000 putting contest, Monster party tent with music and an ice luge, an awards dinner, and several sponsored prizes.

Twenty teams participated in the scramble style golf tournament. Steve Astephen, Chad Reed, Taylor Massey, and Doug Timmons of Wasserman Media Group were the winners. Each received a trophy and a Curtis & Co. watch. They were also presented with the traveling trophy for the second year in a row. Second place went to the Franklin Law Team of Chuck Franklin, Danny Dobey, Brandon Peckham, and Chris Trevino, who was presented with Nike Drivers. Third place and winner of the new Kicker iKick was the Connexions Team of Bob Walker, Denny Stephenson, Rick Zeiler, and Josh Oron.

The Foundation would like to thank all the sponsors who helped make this year's event the most successful yet; Live Nation, Curtis & Co., Ogio, Kicker, Alpinestars, Leatt, Connexions, Hart and Huntington, Wasserman Media Group, One Industries, Nike Golf, Oakley, Omatic, Spy Optics, Nixon, DVS Shoes, Smith Optics, DC Shoes, Miller Brewing, Pahr Golf Clothing, Franklin Law, Pacific Ambulance, Monster Tel, Millsaps 118 Inc, J Star Motors, Division 7 Inc, Amy Mac Jewelry, Jagermeister, Motocloth, Tourneau, FullTilt Poker, Ryan Newman, Who's Your Daddy Energy Drink, Giant Bicycles, World Series of Poker, Turning Stone Resort, World Poker Tour, Dana K Realty, Doyle Brunson, Wynn Hotel, Metzger/Smithline, and Roy Winston, along with corporate sponsors Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM, BTO Sports, Pure Pain Racing and Pro Circuit.
