  • Vortex Dominates the 2008 AMA Supercross Championship

Wins 10 of 16 races

Tampa Bay, Fla. – Vortex Racing, one of the motorcycle parts industry’s most trusted brands in sprockets, dominated the Supercross class at the 2008 AMA Supercross Championship in Las Vegas, Nev. on Saturday, May 3. Vortex, who designed and manufactured the sprockets on Supercross Champion Chad Reed’s winning bike as well as the entire Factory US Yamaha team, boasts wins in 10 of the 17 races.

“One of the toughest jobs in the motorcycle parts business is designing and creating the sprockets that champions like Chad Reed and rising star Josh Hill trust to put on their bikes. We take pride in our ability to meet and exceed these riders’ expectations. For the 2008 Supercross season in the top class, Vortex sprockets performed flawlessly and exceeded the very high expectations of Factory Yamaha,” says Matt Griffin, president of Vortex.

Vortex sprockets were on more winning bikes than any other brand of sprockets for the 2008 Supercross class. Reed won nine races and Hill made his first appearance on top of the AMA Supercross Championship podium. Together they racked up 10 wins making Vortex the most winning sprocket in the 2008 Supercross class.

“These wins certainly made the 2008 Supercross season one to remember. We congratulate Chad and Josh on their victories,” says Griffin.
