Jenny Coombs with the Road 2 Recovery was involved in a serious automobile accident on her way to work on Tuesday. Jenny crashed into a concrete embankment on the freeway and broke here left leg and ankle, crushed her eye socket, punctured her liver and spleen, ripped her leg open from the knee to her hip and had swelling on her brain.
They put her in an induced coma while relieving the pressure from the brain. They have pinned her ankle, stapled the gash in her leg and repaired the spleen and liver. On Saturday they are going to operate on her eye socket. She is improving and the pressure has gone down in the brain and as of last night she was breathing on her own.
She is expected to make a full recovery but it will no doubt take a while. She is still in ICU, but once she is conscious and moved to a regular room we can send her cards and flowers to the following address.
