Injury Update: Tim Coombs
Former pro privateer Tim Coombs suffered neck, back, and shoulder injuries when he crashed Sunday at Steel City Raceway in Delmont, PA, during Sunday's PAMX Spring Series race. The 44-year-old Coombs, who now helps manage all of Racer Productions' events, was taken to the UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh. Thankfully, he has full feeling and mobility, though he will undergo surgery this week to fuse together two vertebrae -- C-6 and C-7 -- in his neck and to repair an exploded disk. He faces an extensive healing period, but his doctors predict a complete recovery. He is in good spirits and is thankful to all of the people that have contacted him and his wife Jessica about his accident.
