Double Victories for Nate Adams at MXWC
San Diego, California – April 14, 2008 - Under the beautiful California sunshine Nate Adams took away two golden helmets and was awarded the Evel Knievel Most Outstanding Rider Award at the Inaugural Navy Moto X World Championships in San Diego.
Nate started off the two-day event on a positive note by taking the golden helmet in the Speed and Style competition on Saturday. With a field loaded with both freestyle and racing champions, Nate stood out and beat the competition with a final score 94.50 proving he’s got more than Freestyle tricks in his back pocket. “I hope Speed & Style is here to stay,” commented Nate, “I think all the riders were really enjoying themselves out there.”
Adams, a seven-time X Games medalist, dominated the freestyle competition early on Sunday afternoon. From his superman seat-grab flip over the 115-foot gap to a backflip cordova, executed flawlessly like only a professional could. Winning the first three rounds, Nate found himself head to head with good friend Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg for the finals. Sitting in the top qualifying position Nate’s confidence exploded onto the course and he finished on top the podium with a final score of 93.80.
The awards didn’t stop there, after taking doubles golds this weekend in Speed & Style and Freestyle fans voted and Nate was awarded the Evel Knievel Most Outstanding Rider Award and was given a custom Knievel Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
