  • MX for Children Raises $60,000

Fundraisers Enjoy Memorable Monster Energy® Supercross Experience

AURORA, Ill. (April 3, 2008) – Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, announced today that a record $60,000 was raised for the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto (SickKids) through MX for Children (www.mxforchildren.org). The money raised for the second annual event to benefit the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto nearly doubled last year’s numbers.

MX for Children has set a 2008 fundraising goal of $145,000 in Toronto and Seattle combined. The funds are dedicated to research for hydrocephalus – the #1 cause of brain surgery in kids. The Inside Line Experience rewards the top 10 individual fundraisers in each city with a VIP meet and greet with top supercross racers, a tour of factory rigs, a walk of the track and premium seating. Considered the quintessential all-access pass, these top fundraisers will enjoy the ultimate supercross fan experience where they actually share one-on-one time with the heroes of Monster Energy® Supercross.

Eleven-year old Chase Languille earned top fundraising honors with $5,149 in Toronto. Languille, who was featured on his local television news earlier this month for his fundraising effort, began raising his funds five months ago in an effort to double his $2,100 contribution last year.

“I’m very appreciative of the support from everyone involved with MX for Children as we completed our second event in Toronto,” said Paul Gross, MX for Children founder. “Chase once again did an amazing job in more than doubling his efforts from last year. We look forward to our next event in Seattle.”

The first-ever Inside Line Experience took place in 2005 in Seattle where Team Yamaha and Team Suzuki helped raise $40,000 for MX for Children. In total, more than $226,000 has been raised to help children’s hospitals through the MX for Children Foundation. Legendary supercross racers such as Chad Reed, James Stewart, Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Villopoto, Tim Ferry, Davi Millsaps, Andrew Short and Ivan Tedesco have participated in the Inside Line Experience.

Pledge forms can be picked up and raffle tickets may be purchased at participating Suzuki dealers in Seattle or online at the official website http://www.mxforchildren.org.
