  • JGRMX Signs Gavin Gracyk

Gracyk will receive full support for the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Championship

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (April 3, 2008) – JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha is pleased to announce that Gavin Gracyk will join the team for the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Championship series, which begins at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, Calif., on May 25. He will be competing in the premier motocross class aboard a YZ450F.

The 24-year old from Ohio is widely known for his determination. Riding as a true privateer, Gracyk finished ninth overall in the motocross class in the 2007 AMA Toyota Motocross Championship, posting 11 top-ten moto finishes.

Since January, Gracyk has been riding for the Troy Lee Designs/Honda/Red Bull Supercross team in the Lites class, and will finish the Lites West Supercross season with Troy Lee. “Troy has been a huge supporter of my program,” said Gracyk. “I can’t thank him enough for everything he and the guys at TLD have done for me.”

“Everyone here is excited to have Gavin on board,” said team manager Jeremy Albrecht. “He posted some impressive results during the ’07 outdoor season and has always shown a lot of promise as an amateur. We think that given the opportunity, he’ll be able to take his racing to the next level,” added Albrecht.

“Bonds between fathers and sons that race are especially strong,” said Coy Gibbs, JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha team owner.  “Gavin lost his dad last year and Gavin’s determination throughout his father’s illness was an inspiration to us all. We are hoping that with the focus on racing our program can provide him, along with our YZ450Fs, he can have the opportunity to show what he can do with Gary smiling down on him.”

Gavin will live and train in North Carolina, where the team has its motocross and NASCAR headquarters, practice track, and private training facility.

JGRMX is sponsored by Toyota, Yamaha, Yamalube, Renthal, N-Style, Oakley, Troy Lee Designs, Bridgestone, Etnies, Boost Mobile, Pro Circuit, Cycra, Renton Coil Spring, and Hinson Clutch Components. For more information, visit the team’s official website, www.jgrmx.com.
