Bad Boy Jake Marsack Masters The Mud Again

  • Bad Boy Jake Marsack Masters The Mud Again

In what was one of the muddiest, wildest, and most brutal supercross races ever, Team Bad Boy rider Jake Marsack # 66 showed the competition and the fans why he's now considered 'master of the mud'. In a rain-shortened 12-lap main event at the Daytona International Speedway on March 7, 2008, Marsack had a brilliant ride for his first AMA Supercross class podium of his career, finishing an impressive third overall. Earlier this year in similar conditions at San Francisco's AT&T Park, Marsack finished fourth overall.

"Jake Marsack just continues to amaze me," said Team Bad Boy’s Rick Ware. "On an incredibly tough course designed by Ricky Carmichael, that was made even tougher by the punishment it received by Mother Nature, Jake rode like a true Bad Boy. I've got a gut feeling that this won't be the last time that Jake and Bad Boy Power Drink end up on the podium this season."

Marsack, who finished third in heat # 2 to qualify for the main event, was ecstatic after his third place finish in the main event. "I was up on the podium covered in mud from head to toe, and it felt great. The hard work is really starting to pay off. Special thanks to my Dad Jim, to Bad Boy Power Drink and to all my sponsors. "

Team Pirelli, one of Marsack's sponsors, was overjoyed with Jake's third place finish in the muddy main at Daytona. It was the best finish on record in an AMA Supercross event for a Pirelli backed rider.

Marsack's teammate Bad Boy Tyler Bright, finished seventh in Heat # 1 in the SX class, and ended up in the AMA Supercross record books. Bright, only 17 years old, became the youngest rider in AMA history to qualify for a main event on a 450. Bright # 709 was making his fellow competitors take notice in the main until he got swallowed up by the mud. Bright, after wrapping up this season's AX East Coast Lites Championship, started riding in the SX division of the AMA Supercross Series for Team Bad Boy in Atlanta, GA on February 23rd.

The next round of the AMA Supercross Series is in the HHH Metrodome in Minneapolis, MN on March 15th.
