Carey Hart, Jeremy Stenberg and Brian Deegan Also Among Those Invited to Compete; Tickets Available Today for Purchase

The first wave of athletes to be invited to compete at the first-ever Moto X World Championships, to be held at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego April 12-13, includes motocross legends totaling more than 85 riders.  Tickets are available beginning today through Ticketmaster.com and all San Diego-area Ticketmaster outlets.

The new annual event will feature the best Moto X riders in the world competing for the title of Moto X World Champion in a variety of disciplines including Freestyle, SuperMoto, Speed & Style, Best Trick, Step Up and Moto X Racing.  Live coverage of the Moto X World Championships will be featured on ESPN HD, ESPN2, ESPN360.com and EXPN.com.

For the complete, updated list of Moto X World Championships athletes, log on to www.expn.com. The second wave of invitations is scheduled to be announced in March. *PLEASE NOTE: The invited athlete list is constantly being updated and is subject to change.

The following athletes have a combined total of 26 X Games medals:

• Travis Pastrana: Thirteen-time Moto X and Rally Car Racing X Games medalist, including eight gold.
• Ricky Carmichael: Known as the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) in motocross, Ricky made his X Games debut last year and won a gold in Moto X Racing.
• Carey Hart: X Games silver medalist in Moto X Best Trick; has competed in 10 AMA Supermoto races.
• Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg:  Three-time X Games medalist and Winter X Games gold medalist.
• Brian Deegan: Eight-time X Games medalist and two-time Winter X Games medalist.

All athletes receiving invitations to compete at Moto X World Championships are chosen by a discipline-specific selection committee. Criteria and timing of invitations varies by discipline as it is based on the state and event schedules of that particular sport.

Information on all X Games events can be found on www.expn.com for fans or on www.espneventmedia.com for media only.

Tickets for the Navy Moto X World Championships go on sale to the public today at 10 a.m. PT. Tickets are $10, $20 and $25 with free pit access included in the $20 and $25 tickets. A military discount will be offered - $5 discount from a $25 ticket and $3 discount from a $20 ticket.

The Moto X World Championship 24-hour Tailgate is available through ticketmaster.com as well. The two-day RV parking pass offers picnic tables, an acoustic music stage, power, port-a-johns and a common area.
