Jason Lawrence extended his win streak to three in a row in San Diego and in doing so took over the points lead by two with two rounds remaining. In his heat race Lawrence struggled and finished 9th, giving him a poor gate pick for the main event. However, not to be denied Lawrence rocketed out of the gate in the main event and took the holeshot, leading wire to wire. Lawrence was using FMF’s 4.1 Carbon system with a megabomb header.
