Toyota AMA AX Set For Rockford’s MetroCentre
AURORA, Ill. (Nov. 27, 2007) – Toyota AMA Arenacross returns to Rockford’s (Ill.) MetroCentre for two nights of arenacross racing action this weekend, Friday and Saturday (Nov. 30 – Dec. 1)., featuring one of the favorites coming into the event - Pearl City’s own Tommy Hofmaster.
“We haven’t raced in Rockford since the 2004-’05 season – so I’m pumped Toyota AMA Arenacross is returning to race my hometown event,” said Hofmaster. “There’s been some unreal racing at the MetroCentre over the years and this weekend fans are going to be highly impressed with the level of competition at the event.”
Leading the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series heading into Rockford is Chad Johnson from nearby Rhinelander, Wis. Johnson, the 2004-’05 Toyota AMA Arenacross Series champion, won the last main event held at the MetroCentre in 2004.
“Rockford’s a key stop on the Toyota AMA Arenacross tour because it’ll decide who has the momentum heading into the Christmas break,” said Johnson. “I’ll have a ton of fans that’ll make the trip down from Wisconsin and look forward to the gate dropping both nights this weekend.”
