  • Yoshihide Fukudome Injured
Yoshihide Fukudome out for remainder of motocross season
After a strong first moto showing at the High Point National two weeks ago, Yoshihide Fukudome appeared to be adapting well to the fast pace of the young AMA Motocross Championship series. But as the Motocross class charged up the hill for the start of moto two, disaster struck.

As the 40 rider group approached the first left hand turn, another rider collided into Fukudome resulting in his left leg being tangled up in the moving rear wheel of the other rider’s motorcycle. The bikes were quickly shut off but the damage had been done. Dome was examined by the Asterisk medic crew immediately on-site where the initial diagnosis was a sprained knee and some fairly severe burns on his calf. The medic staff advised Fukudome to meet with doctors upon his return to California.

After meeting with the Moto XXX team doctors to review the
results of an MRI, it has been determined that Fukudome has suffered a grade 3 tear of his MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament) and 3rd degree burns on the back of his calf.

Unfortunately, due to the severity of the injuries, Dome will miss the remaining rounds of the AMA Motocross Championships. Fukudome is now on his way back to Japan to meet with his personal doctor to determine the best course of action.

While this is not the way Fukudome would have liked to have ended his season, he remains optimistic and can’t wait to get back to racing in the US. All of us at Moto XXX would like to wish Yoshihide a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the states very soon.
