Kawasaki Supercross Kick-Off Meeting Debuts New Sponsor Look

Kawasaki held its third annual SX Kick-Off Meeting in Irvine today, where employees spent time with the all the race teams, and media were invited as well. The new look for the Monster Kawasaki factory bikes was unveiled. Stewart and Ferry’s bikes look so good, it’s a shame they have to get dirty!

 

Stewart and Villopoto got 2006 championship rings from Mike Fisher and Mitch Payton. All of Kawasaki’s teams got introduced by our good friend Jamie Little, so in addition to Monster Kawasaki, and Monster/Pro Circuit, Cernic’s Kawasaki and Motosport Outlet were introduced as well.
  
MX2 World Champion Christophe Pourcel talked and still isn’t that comfortable speaking in English, but he’s working on it. Townley was still in Florida in his own boot camp, but is going to be in town to watch this weekend.

The one question that’s going to be on people’s minds for a while is what happens to Stewart’s relationship with Red Bull, and that’s wasn’t part of the day. It’s understood that there were some issues, like no Monster graphics seen in public until Stewart’s agreement with Red Bull ended, which happened on Dec 31. So far this one is not official - only a "no comment."

 

Fisher showed the media around the race shop, and Stewart’s bike was looking good. Tomorrow the team has more meetings, with the big Amp’d Mobile Supercross press conference at Anaheim.
