  • OH MY JOSH! Hayes and Hansen Suit Up for Queen Mary Supermoto Finale

October 26, 2006 - The stars continue to come out for Troy Lee's "Duel At The Docks", the AMA Supermoto Championship Final taking place Nov. 3-5 at the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

November 3-5, 2006

Hard-charging Josh Hayes, who's making his name as an AMA Pro Superbiker but spent his childhood on dirt bikes, will blend his lifetime of experience to challenge Supermoto series points leaders Jeff Ward, Doug Henry, Chris Fillmore and Mark Burkhart on the fast and wild Queen Mary course.

Controversial supercross specialist Josh "Li'l Hanny" Hansen, is back on track after an injury-plagued 2006 but also a respectable showing recently at the Jeremy McGrath Supercross Invitational. Could "Duel At The Docks" be the event where Hansen finally breaks out and realizes his true potential?

"With basically all the 2006 racing series' over now, we'll be adding new riders every day," noted Lee. "A bunch of the big name pros want one last shot at a podium this year, so fortunately for us they've decided to go supermoto racing here at the Queen. It's going to be an awesome event!"

Racers will face off on the AMA's fastest and most spectacular racetrack yet in Long Beach. Its twisted figure-eight design is made possible by the inclusion of a supermoto first: a long, narrow tunnel right before the transition from asphalt to dirt. Add to that The Parts Unlimited "Urban Cross" jumps and 40-foot Honda "Skyshot" bridge, and you've got a recipe for the kind of spectator-pleasing race action where anything can happen and any racer may win.

Troy Lee's "Duel At The Docks" begins on Friday, Nov. 3rd with practice sessions that are open to the public. Saturday the 4th will feature amateur racing in the NASMOTO (North American Supermoto) championship, with the AMA Supermoto Championship national final taking place on Sunday the 5th.

Tickets are available at www.troyleedesigns.com and at participating Southern California Honda motorcycle dealers. Prices are $15/Friday, $25/Saturday, $35/Sunday, or $50 for the whole weekend. Kids age 12 and under get in free with a paid adult using a voucher available at Honda motorcycle dealers. A limited number of motorcycles will be able to park in the Queen Mary lot, while those in autos will park at the nearby Long Beach Convention Center and take advantage of a convenient stream of shuttle buses and watercraft to and from the racetrack.
