Supermoto Season Finale Expected To Make A Splash At The Queen Mary
September 26, 2006 – This year’s AMA pro and NASMOTO amateur supermoto series will both end in spectacular fashion on a single weekend November 3-5 at the fabled Queen Mary in California’s Long Beach Harbor. Troy Lee’s inaugural “Duel At The Docks” will combine a picturesque venue with a highly creative supermoto track layout that promises to provide one of the most memorable race weekends in motorsports history.

The weekend’s action begins on Friday, Nov. 3rd with pro and amateur practice sessions and media day. Saturday the 4th features NASMOTO (North American Supermoto) championship amateur racing and pro practice. The main event is on Sunday the 5th, as the top pointsgetters from this season’s AMA pro supermoto series fight for this year’s national titles. Jeff Ward, Doug Henry and Chris Fillmore currently lead the Supermoto pack, while Team Troy Lee Designs’ Cassidy Anderson has dominated the Supermoto Lites (250cc) category, battling Brandon Currie all the way. The trio of David Baffeleuf, Ben Carlson and reigning class champ Micky Dymond have been running neck and neck in the Unlimited class standings.
The “Duel At The Docks” track layout is designed to showcase the trademark versatility possessed by top supermoto racers. Features include The Monaco Tunnel just before the transition from dirt to asphalt – a first for a supermoto track – and a massive bridge over a paved section of the course that will certainly result in plenty of crowd-pleasing excitement.
