Oklahoma's Only Indoor Public Kart Track Opens
Pole Position Raceway Expands into Oklahoma City
Indoor kart racing is quickly becoming one of the fastest-growing forms
of recreation in the United States. That's what prompted several key
people from the racing industry to create Pole Position Raceway.
Pole Position Raceway in Oklahoma City is located near Interstate 44
at N.W. 36th and May Ave. inside a 90,000 square-foot state-of-the-art
entertainment facility on 5 acres. The track also includes all sorts of
racing memorabilia, video games, concessions and a V.I.P. room.
"This is the ultimate hands-on racing experience," said Jason Williams, CEO of Race P2R, Inc. "I was born and raised here and know that Oklahomans will love this facility. Aside from those who just show up and race in our arrive and drive races, we will offer a wide variety of programs including corporate team building events, birthday parties, group races and more. This is a track for racers by racers, and anyone can join in on the action. We have 75 brand new electric karts that have twice the horsepower of the karts found at most facilities around the country. At 45mph these are certainly not the karts you remember driving as a kid. They accelerate harder, are more evenly matched, and provided the closest racing found anywhere in the state."
Those involved with Pole Position Raceway also include seven-time
AMA Supercross Champ Jeremy McGrath, X-Games Gold Medalist Mike
Metzger, Freestyle Legend Kenny Bartram (from Oklahoma), off-road
legends Randy Hawkins, Barry Hawk and Dick Burleson, F.I.M Motocross
World Champs Greg Albertyn and Grant Langston, and three-time land
speed record holder Ken Faught, among others. For more information be
