  • Fox Motocross of Nations 2006

FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL)-For the third year in a row FOX Racing will be the Title sponsor of the Motocross of Nations, the Olympics of Motocross. After the last 2 successful editions of the FOX Motocross of Nations in Lierop and Ernée, with the latter hosting and entertaining 60,000 spectators in 2005, FOX, one of the leading brands in the motocross clothing, decided to secure its partnership with this almost 60 year old event.

The first Motocross of Nations was held in 1947: it was in Wassenaar (Holland) and the winners were the British Team. Since then the importance of the event has grown over the many years; FOX will have the naming rights of the Motocross of Nations event as well as advertising on trackside and promotional activities all over the racing weekend.

Youthstream President Giuseppe Luongo said
: “I am very happy that the most famous American brand continues this fantastic adventure of the Motocross of Nations with us. FOX is an image of success and quality and it is the right name to be linked with the Motocross of Nations”.

Also FOX Racing Inc. President Greg Fox
expressed his satisfaction: “The Motocross of Nations is unique in our sport. It is the only race during the year where riders are not individual racers but are actually racing as a team. It is also the only event in Motocross where racers are motivated to represent and win for their country. No other motocross race has this combination of history, racing talent and excitement that the 3 motos of the Motocross of Nations have”.

The 2006 FOX Motocross of Nations will be held on the track of Matterley Basin, that played host to the eighth round of the 2006 Motocross World Championship, the 23rd and 24th of September.
