  • The 4-stroke revolution .......10 years ago Yamaha & Doug Henry shocked the world..

HAS IT REALLY BEEN 10 YEARS...since Yamaha started the 4-stroke revolution with its YZ400F?

Flash back to 1996 : In the glamour of stadium lights and Supercross crowds, Jeremy Mc Grath had just picked up his fourth AMA 250cc Supercross crown. Meanwhile, in the anonymity of the California desert,  a lone rider named Doug Dubach was test riding the prototype YZ400F for the very first time. Little did he know the impact that bike would have a little further down the motocross track....

WIN ON SUNDAY, SELL ON MONDAY!
Yes, it's the old cliche, but one the motocross industry still believes in.
So with the YZ400F given the go-ahead, Yamaha committed to racing the bike full time in the merciless U.S. SX series. Yamaha Team manager Keith McCarty soon decided to sign former Honda factory rider Doug Henry to pilot the bike for 1997 and assist in its development.

It was a tough and decisive moment in Doug Henry's career.
His last few seasons were injury-ravaged to the point where many thought he would never even walk again, let alone race a motorcycle.

But Henry's effort over the next few years is the stuff legends are made of, and, come a sultry night in Las Vegas, May 1997, Doug Henry shocked the world and rode a white factory Yamaha YZ400F into the winner's circle at the final round of the U.S. SX series. The motocross world would never be the same.

To celebrate such chain of events in Motocross history, its innovators and heroes responsible for it all, ONE Industries is proud to introduce the Yamaha YZ450F - Doug Henry white kit. Available now for YZ-F 250/450 06-07, the kit includes Graphics and its full trim kit with pre-printed number plate backgrounds, Technogrip seat cover, front & rear fender plus radiator shrouds included. (numbers sold separately)
