Travis Pastrana to Race Inaugural Jeremy McGrath Invitational

Los Angeles, CA (AUGUST 9, 2006) – Coming off a history making X Games weekend – taking gold medals in Freestyle Moto Best Trick, Rally Car and Moto X Freestyle – superstar Travis Pastrana will race the Jeremy McGrath Invitational!  Taking place October 6 and 7 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California, this first-ever Supercross-style race will showcase unique head-to-head race action, never-before seen track designs, exciting entertainment and the largest purse ever offered in the sport of Supercross racing – $500,000.

Travis had this to say about accepting his invite to race from McGrath, "This event not only sounds like a lot of fun, but I am really looking forward to racing some of my old friends.  That head-to-head racing action is something I haven't done much of, so it'll definitely be something new and exciting for me."

Via the strategic partnership formed between Jeremy McGrath and Wasserman Media Group, event organizers have also obtained commitments to race from 12 other top Supercross riders.  Confirmed riders include:

The Jeremy McGrath Invitational is presented by American Honda and Amp’d Mobile and sponsored by Dunlop Tires, Kicker Audio Systems, Spy Optics, Pro Taper, Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and DC Shoes.
