CARLSBAD, Calif., (July 28, 2006) – Two Monster Energy-backed
athletes have a chance at MTV immortality this Sunday (July 30th) as
nominees for the popular video music channel’s 2006 “Sickest Sports Moment” on the program All That Rocks.

Officials at MTV’s All That Rocks program cited Monster Energy’s Mike “The Godfather” Metzger’s mind numbing 110-foot back flip over the fountain at Caesar’s Palace this past May 4th as one of the year’s sickest sports moments, along with Monster Energy-backed Shane Dorian’s behemoth barrel ride at the Teahupoo break off the coast of Tahiti (Sept. 11, 2005).

The two Monster Energy athletes are up against one other formidable
trick, Danny Way’s 360 jump over the Great Wall of China on a skateboard.
